Dear moodle support team,

I´m a newbie on moodle and i´m running a instalation on windows 2003 server for just a few mouths now.

It´s been realy straight forward and with no seriouse problems and everything i need is working strait out of the box.

Recently i found an issue that i really dont understand if it is a limitation of moodle is it is a problem with MS 2k3 servers.

My issue is related with the publication of small web sites as resources that some teachers neeed to use.

The problem is with links from those sites...i can open the first page but i cant´t open the rest of the site because links are not right.

My moodle data folder is out of the pub area from the rest of the website but is working fine with all files and fine even with the first page of the small web site but inside this small web sites it transforms the links as http://www.mydomain.com/example.htm. and it shoulb be someting like http://www.mydomain.com/file.php?file=/X/XXXXX/example.htm

Can this be fixed? Is it a moodle limitation or a server issue?

What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance!!

I can't imagine any way the server will allow you to browse outside of the web root.  The main reason you put your data folder outside is to protect the content from browsing.

Thanks for the reply Don!

I understand that, but i thought that moodle could somehow translate the address to something like http://www.mydomain.com/file.php?file=/X/XXXXX/example.htm in all pages.

Not even Apache can do that?

Is the only way to acomplish this, is to edit the address in the web page to http://www.mydomain.com/file.php?file=/X/XXXXX/example.htm . or there is another way?

Thanks once more for the support.
