I am also trying to find a solution to this same problem. I am wondering if you were able to figure anything out or if you are still trying to figure this out.
I was thinking of setting up a large spreadsheet where all of the gradebooks for those courses get published to and then converting that data into other individual files for the courses in that category. But I haven't been able to successfully set it up yet.

Thank you so very much for replying back to me! Wow that community reports page is absolute gold - there is so much stuff there. I appreciate the direct link to the specific one that you used.
Okay I guess I have some more research and learning to do to figure out how to make this work, but thanks to you and the work of everyone who has contributed I am that much closer to a solution.
