The text does not show the bullet and numbering

Hello everyone,

The problem I have got is I can not use the bullet and numbering when typing my messages in Forum ativity. Here is the detail:

1. Firstly, I typed my messages in Forum, using the bullet and numbering:

2. Then, I clicked "Post to Forum".

3. I came back to this discussion, and here was what I saw:

4. The text does not showed what I want. The bullet and numbering had gone.

5. I clicked "Edit" and deleted what I typed and I typed again, but the result was the same.

How can I fix this issue? Please help! Thanks in advanced.

Are you using a non-standard theme which doesn't have styling for bullets and numbers?

Thank you for your concerning.
I am not sure whether the theme I am using is non-standard or standard. The theme I am using is called Edumy Cocoon.
When adding this Forum activity, the Forum type that I chose is Standard forum for general use.

Helen, this is interesting. I tried to create the structure that Ha Duong Lam tried and could not. I am using the latest Moodle, Boost, and ATTO. I might try to do this on MoodleCloud.

Thank you for your concern.
I am using Moodle version 3.9, Edumy Cocoon theme.
In fact, I do not know what's happened. When I typed this structure in Summary of Section, or in Description of Forum activity, it worked well as the below pictures:
the bullet and numbering was showed correctly in the summary of Section

It seems that this issue happens when I am making a post in discussion of Forum activity.

On my MoodleCloud, which is using Moodle 3.10 right now, I could not create your desired structure.
I began with the following.

Then I tried to bullet 2 and 3. Below is what I get.

Have you tried indenting the bullet points?

First write a structure

  1. Idea
  2. Sub-Idea
  3. Idea

Then indent the items of interest: 

  1. Idea
    1. Sub-Idea
  2. Idea

Then use bullets to change the format: 

This works in my Moodle installation (3.11), but for some reason not in the forum here, when you look at the HTML code, the forum messes it up.

In my installation I use ATTO. The question is: Why would an editor change something which is allowed in HTML?

Yep, your suggestion seems to work (see below.) Since the sub-topics are second indents, they take on a different type of bullet, which I believe to be correct.

Thank you Mr. Jerz and Mr. Giger for sharing us your issue and solution.
In my situation, I also used "Indent" button, however, text I typed in Forum activity did not show as I wanted. The bullet and numbering disappeared.
So, has anyone the solution for my issue?
