I use the native certificate activity to award students a certificate of completion after they finish their continuing education course. We limit their enrollment in the course to 6 months but we as a continuing education provider are responsible for providing access to their certificates of completion for 7 years. We use Joomdle with Joomla and Joomla users can click on the "My Certificates" menu item to view a list of certificates of completion they have been awarded in their Moodle courses. These certificates (PDFs) are simply pulled from Moodle. However, after their enrollment expires (6 months) their courses and certificates are no longer visible to them. Also after this time, if we as admins look at their profiles in Moodle the courses do not show in the users' profile. We use the Moodle native "Certificate" activity rather than the "Custom Certificate" plugin so that it will work with Joomdle.
Students often need to contact us for their certificates of completion because they lost them. Trying to discover all the courses the user was registered in and locate and retrieve all of their certificates of completion is very time-consuming.
This Moodle plugin would be perfect but it has not been updated for Moodle 3.9 or maintained.
