Validate a formula in Stack (special character)

Validate a formula in Stack (special character)

Hi,

I have a question where students must answer the following formula:

f(E) + f(N) - f(E∩N)

How do I get Stack to accept the "∩" character?
What settings to choose for the input type and in the response test?

Thanks in advance, S.

I'm sorry, but this character (and similar) is not currently supported. We have a limited "permitted" list.

I can certainly see why you would want this, of course the whole point is that in STACK symbols have meaning, and so we would then need to have an infix "intersect" operator in STACK, which would be commutative etc. All very valuable, but it needs more work than just accepting the symbol!

Hi Chris,

I don't need the meaning of the symbol to be understood by Stack. What I would like is for Stack to be able to verify that a formula has been entered correctly.
I have tried this, either with the html code of the character or from a copy of the symbol from the screen, without success (see attachment).
I will also attach the question to you (in French, sorry).
