I was trying to reset passwords for multiple people at once and then sending them password reset messages.
Now in https://docs.moodle.org/39/en/Upload_users#Passwords is says
"If omitted, a password will be generated for each user (during the next Cron job) and welcome e-mails sent out."
So I though when I have a csv file with
and leave the password field empty
and set the upload options like this:
Upload type: Add new and update existing users
New user password: Create password if needed and send via email
Existing user details: Override with file
Existing user password: Update
It would regenerate a new password and send out a mail just like when I first uploaded the users.
This didn't happen.
So is this at all possible?
I just want to achieve that each users gets a new password and an email with a new password without me having to manually send out mails.
It should all go in one step.
I know I have the option to use the changeme password together with the "Select for bulk user actions" option, but frankly setting the same password for multiple users is not really what i consider super safe.
