Unfortunately I don't know the English terms and I can only work with a translator, but I'll try to explain what I mean:
In our moodle I have different activities
and working materials available. One of the working materials is the universal text field. Here you choose if it should be a carousel or grid or if the text is collapsed. Then you will see only the title and a small triangle. If you click on it, the hidden text unfolds.
The collapsed text originally shows the user only the text that you entered in the title. This text is highlighted as a hyperlink and has a small triangle at the left side to indicate that it can be expanded."
This works great in the browser and makes the page more manageable.
In the moodle app, however, the text field is always displayed expanded, so the advantage of clarity is lost.
I also like to use it to provide tips or solutions, but I don't want them to be directly visible. I am therefore not a fan of the app.
In the progress bar or progress list, I as a teacher can see which boxes are checked off for the students. If I make this visible to the students, they can see their own progress bars as well.
In the dashboard
, the students will see on the course tile what percentage they have completed. This makes it clear when they have 100% that they are done.
Unfortunately, the dashboard display always refers to everything in the course. I find this very unfavorable, since I prepare or optionally provide material in the course that does not (yet) need to be worked on by the students.
So the students can never reach the 100%.
It would be nicer if I as a teacher could set this.
I can make this setting in the course. There I can also display a separate progress list for each section. But not in the dashboard.
Is that understandable now?
Since I want to see what the students have already done, I prefer that the completion tracking happens automatically and that I, as the teacher, see the checked box as well.
But both working materials (normal text box and universal text box) can only be checked off manually by the students. If the uni textbox was checked off, I can see as a teacher, with the normal one I don't see anything.
I would like to be able to see both.
Also, it would be nice if I could select the universal text field to be automatically checked off when it is clicked.
