Friendly external link names in course pages

Friendly external link names in course pages

Hi,

When I copy-paste an external link in Moodle, the full URL is displayed as the link text.

The only solution is to manually write the Name as text and then add the hyperlink.

Can the Name of the link show automatically?

For example, when copying the link of an activity in another course the link will automatically show the activity name instead of the full link in the course page.

Another example is when copying and pasting a link to a OneDrive document or a Sharepoint page, is it possible for the link to automatically display the link name in the page as ‘Document 1’  instead of the full url as plain text ‘mysite.sharepoint/Document1.docx’

note:

I do not have the M365 integration enabled in Moodle, I am just copying and pasting the external url to a Moodle course page

Thank you

Hi Anastasia,

This is an interesting request and I can see how it might save time, but I have never used a system that will do that. Might I suggest you use the "URL" resource, this will make it easy.

I hope this helps.
