Multiple choice question type will not save answers

I've tried multiple times today to create a multiple choice question, but every time I try to save the question, I get error messages saying that I must supply answers and all of the answer fields are blank.  It does not matter whether I only have one answer for each question or whether I supply additional options for answers.  Every time I try to save, all of the answers are erased.   I have successfully used this question type in the past.  Did a recent update cause this?  Is something else going on?

I am running Moodle 3.10.3 (Build: 20210325)

Hello Stephanie,

Did a recent update cause this? Not an update of Moodle.

You could try your question in the Moodle Sandbox ↗ and see if it works there. If it does, the problem is definitely not with Moodle, but with something else.

Check:

  • Special content in your answers.
  • Any change in the site theme.
  • Other people having the same problem on your site.
  • Help from your IT service (site settings, debug mode, etc.)

Thanks! That fixed it. I was using the < symbol for angle, and evidently Moodle did not like that.
