Redirect to English documentation page doesn't work

In the Atto equation editor there's a link to the documentation page "Using_TeX_Notation" (Source Code). But that page doesn't exist in another language, e.g. German:

  1. You get this link: https://docs.moodle.org/39/de/Using_TeX_Notation
  2. If you click on the link to see the English version it moves you here: https://docs.moodle.org/30/en/Using

There are other documentation pages related to MathJax which are available in German (and in English). But they are more for admins than for end users:

Ideally there would be a German translation of the Using_TeX_Notation page. smile But as long as it doesn't exist is there a way to make the redirect work as expected?

Hello Tim. Moodle documentation uses MediaWiki and the English documentation is a completely separate instance of a wiki from documentation in other languages, eg in German. So there is no automatic link - someone has to make the equivalent German page and then link it to the English page. I completely agree that ideally there should be a page in German rather than making a redirect to an English page. If you want the translation of the Using_Tex_Notation page then you or someone has to create that page in German https://docs.moodle.org/310/de/Using_TeX_Notation. If you don't want to do this yourself, you could mention it in the German speaking community: Deutsche Moodler.

Hello Mary. Yeah that's one option. But it's a long page and I don't think we have the time at the moment to translate it all. But there's also clearly something going wrong where it directs me to https://docs.moodle.org/30/en/Using for the English version of the page. Until we have a translation of the page it would be nice if we could at least get to the English version. Do you know how that can be fixed?

You should find the link to the English version is now working correctly. (It required the link to be fixed in https://docs.moodle.org/39/de/MediaWiki:Noarticletext-nopermission )
