STACK: Equivalence Reasoning example not working well

Hi all, I followed the instructions on this page:

https://moodle.telt.unsw.edu.au/question/type/stack/doc/doc.php/Authoring/Authoring_quick_start_4.md

to create a question using the Equivalence Reasoning input type. I followed the whole thing faithfully and was able to get the first part correct (before "More Specific feedback". Basically as long as I enter an algebraically equivalent expression a tick will appear. When answer is submitted, it will accept any algebraically equivalent expression.

However, when I went on to the next part, which is to expect an expression that is expanded completely, by adding a second node, I was unable to make it work. It still accepts a factorized expression such as the question itself (x+2)^3 as a valid answer.

Can someone let me know what I did wrongly? Attached are screenshots of my settings.
