Accessing Moodle from a third party app

Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere, but I couldn't find what I am looking for.

I am an eLearning developer (Storyline and RISE 360) but I have no experience with the Moodle LMS.

I have a client who wants to use Moodle to host content via his WordPress site.

At the moment his learners access video content via a mobile phone app (Android and iPhone) - using SSO to validate the user, then link to the content hosted on Vimeo. This is video only content, no tracking or accompanying eLearning, to support a classroom-based course.

Obviously this had to change, but he has only recently taken the decision to move to eLearning, and as he has had the app purpose designed for under a year - he wants to retain the app if possible.

So my question, will Moodle "talk" to a mobile app?

Can his learners access Moodle based eLearning content using SSO or similar from his existing app?

I hope I have explained myself clearly and thanks in advance for any help and guidance you can provide.
