First, a comment ... 2.6.x of moodle is very old and while you might running that version with a sheet plugin ... can't stay at that version forever. :|

Question: purpose of using a spreadsheet?

Suggestions ... other than upgrading the moodle ... search with multiple search sites/pages.   Moodle plugins has search:
