I've read a few places with lots of different answers but can't seem to get this to work correctly. We have 4 teachers all using the same course, but they have different students. Right now, all teachers are receiving notifications for all students. How do assign the students and teacher into a group so we get only notifications for our students? PLEASE help.

The first step would be to set up Groups in the course and assign students and teachers to different groups. Then set the activities in the course to the 'Separate Groups' mode. A quick way to do this is click on the icon next to activity on the course homepage (with Turn Editing On). For any activity that supports groups, you can set No Groups, Separate Groups, or Visible Groups. Mouse-over the icon to see what is the current group mode. If it's No Groups, clicking the icon will change it to Separate Groups. Clicking it once again will change it to Visible Groups. Of course, you can also change the group mode from the activity settings.
