intermittent SCORM activity tracking issues

Reporting on H5P is weird. the user has to manually do something for it to 'complete'.

SCORM is different. There are many reasons it might not report--@Jay learning noted one of them: bad internet connection. Any disruption of connection will break the scorm connections and stop reporting. Use of cell phones/mobile devices without the mobile app can result in reporting issues. And Google Chrome (also Edge, since they are essentially the same) can interfere with reporting if you are on a Moodle version before 3.7 ish.

I cannot say anything about SL360--I've never used it...but older versions of Captivate had some issues with reporting, so it is possible there is something in coding that just isn't working for them. My best SCORM experiences were using Lectora. I use Captivate now and swear at it daily.

Thanks for writing back! I am swearing everyday too!

The mobile moodle app is not available through our LMS provider (OpenLMS)--they have their own app, but I don't believe it works with H5P at the moment. Not sure if it will work with Storyline SCORM. Haven't gotten that far in my testing. I am the only one working on the LMS!

One thing I finally did this week to combat problems up front is to include this verbiage for all new users in their training invitation and in the email with their username/password:

"Before you access the site, please make sure that the browser on your computer or mobile device is set to allow popups and cookies (and third party cookies) from https://www.gertensuniversity.com so that your training responses are properly recorded. If you are unsure how to do that, go to our FAQ page here."

I found a link that sums it up:
https://www.isc.upenn.edu/how-to/configuring-your-web-browser-allow-pop-windows

Canvas made a nice summary here but it is just for popups:
https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Basics-Guide/How-do-I-allow-pop-ups-for-Canvas-in-my-browser/ta-p/33

Here is a link that tells users how to enable javascript, cookies (and third party cookies) and popups.

Does anyone know if Moodle has a link like this somewhere?
I asked our LMS provider (OpenLMS) to make one. Maybe Articulate will make one?

I've been in this position...everyone looks to you for answers and...well. Sometimes you just don't have them. I have trouble believing they would make an app that couldn't handle plugins. The point of Moodle is that things plug in and work. You might create a small H5P lesson in a sandbox and try it out on the app. If their app can't do scorm, it is junk (I hope they read this). It doesn't matter what you create the scorm in--it should run if it meets the build requirements for Moodle. If it doesn't....I repeat, junk. Do you know which version of Moodle your OpenLMS is running? I think H5P has been in core since...3.8...and more recent builds have moodle content banks.

There is a way to add language to the login screen. I can't tell you how. I think it is in themes somewhere or in one of the files that pushes themes. I don't do that stuff. Depending on how OpenLMS works, you might be able to modify language packs and add some information. Or, on your site home page, you could just put it up there. Another option: an HTML block on everyone's dashboard with those instructions. Articulate can't do anything to your LMS. At best, you could add the language to the SCORM activity (either in the content pre-publish or in the Moodle activity itself.
