Problem custom certificates: recipients visible vs. not visible

Hi,

We are having problems with seeing the recipients of the custom certificates in a course. 

In the production environment, the recipients of the custom certificate are not visible (despite the fact that we can find it on the user profile of a test user). However, they are visible in the staging environment. In both environments we logged in with the admin role. 

We have looked at all the settings and associated rights, but we think they are the same (for both environments), so we have no idea why there is a difference in both environments.

Do you perhaps have an idea on what could cause this problem to occur? And how can we fix this?

Hi Sofie,

We had this issue too - it seemed only students were adding to the recipient tally.

In our case, any users with the non-editing teacher system role had the mod/customcert:manage and mod/customcert:verifycertificate permissions (Users > Permissions > Define Roles) and so did not add to the recipient tally.

Once these permissions were removed, they started to show up as recipients of the certificates - and could also still see the number and list of recipients of users within their group.

The only permissions our non-editing teachers have now are:
mod/customcert:receiveissue
mod/customcert:view
mod/customcert:viewreport

And our students have:
mod/customcert:receiveissue
mod/customcert:view
