I've been looking for an answer for ages, so I hope I haven't overlooked something obvious. So far, all the workarounds I have found assume a fairly traditional approach to course design and learning, ironically. For example, they suggest hiding an activity until the other activities have been completed.
The course I am designing will be self-paced, self-study. As a result, I cannot assume or impose a sequence for completing activities, nor hide any until others are completed. There is usually no hierarchy between the activities relating to a competency. What I would like to do is have a person marked as competent when all activities where that competency has been allocated have been completed. At the moment, I am thinking that the only way is for it to be done manually, but that seems strange for what must be a pretty common situation.
Am I missing something? Any pointers gratefully received.
