Good day everyone, Please help me , out of nowhere we encounter this error yesterday and until now our moodle is not working thank you
It means the web server which is running Moodle can not create session files, typically in moodledata/sessions. File permissions is the first thing to look at. The worst scenario short of hardware failure is no space in the file system!
Thank you for answering my question, just a follow up question ? Is it possible to automatically update the moodle cause i ask my hosting provider and they said that may be the moodle updated itself, I am just so curious how come that the file permission changed if no one opened our cpanel , and I can really fix it cause I am not really a techie guy but i tried to look at the moodledata/sessions it seems like the permission is ok it is 755
Well, this is a techie issue. You need to dig and bring up evidence.
You haven't responded to my "no space in the file system" whereas you have a history: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=411386.
And if it is still the same provider https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=409307 you are driving a dead-end-street.
The other question, whether Moodle will update itself, is something completely different. Please start a new discussion.
