How to upload a unique file for each student in 3.10

Hello! OK, so I'm back with another request from my client. They are looking to upload to moodle a tax receipt for each student.

Is this something that can be done? There was a plugin called dataform that from what I've read was doing exactly that, but they stopped at 3.6 I believe.

The ability to upload as a batch would be amazing as well..

Any clues, ideas?

It is good to see you back, Marc.

I don't know, I have never had to do this. But I wonder if the Assignment activity might be used in some creative way. I think an instructor can upload individual feedback files, but I am not sure if the student must first submit something. So I am just suggesting looking into Assignments.

Hello Rick!!! glad to hear from you!

Yes, the assignment was indeed a proposed solution, but the issue is that you cannot upload per user. And if you could somehow do it, it's ok if you have 10-20 students, but here we're talking 2 campuses, and a growing amount of student to close to 500... so they would need something more "automated" in the lines of a being able to upload a document to their own private folder. I'm growing a list of to-do plugins lol!!! check me out in 2022!! I'll have a full catalog out lol!

I think for the Assignment to work, each file has to have its name match the required file name format. However, if you are going to upload 500 different files, they would each have to have a unique name anyway, wouldn't they?

It seems to me that you might need to email the students their individual files.

Just recently (over the last month) another person on Moodle.org used Outlook and Mail Merge to solve a problem similar to yours.

Yes, I think it was me with enrolling student under a specific mail domain and sending the Moodle welcome message to their personal email. ;)

Outlook mail merge worked like a charm for that.. Will look into a similar setup for their document.
