To me, a VPS install has two parts.
Preparing a VPS for Moodle depends on the distribution, web server and database selected. Documentation such as the Ubuntu guide covers some of the steps required - for instance installing Apache and Mysql - but IMHO it doesn't cover all the steps. There is no reference to SSL and FQDN for example.
I may be out on my own on this one and I need to go away and see if my grand concept of Preparing a LAMP Server for Moodle from scratch is useful or just adds to the clutter.
