on our site we use Moodle 3.5 / Boost theme.
For a few courses I'd like to integrate particular menu items in the nav-drawer that point to individual sub content of that courses. For example with '$coursenode->add' in the file lib/navigationlib.php I was able to manipulate menu items in the nav-drawer.
Of course I do not want to hack the core code. I also took notice of the plugin local_boostnavigation. But I see no chance to integrate say a separate sub menu in the nav drawer for course xy with that plugin. Maybe I'm wrong here.
My imagination was that I could create a new course format that allows to configure a special menu for course xy with th help of Moodle's *_extend_navigation() hook. Is that possible for a course format or only for a local plugin ? Can you get me started here ? plugin structure, code snippets ?
Have thanks for your help!
