Using the Uplooad and Review add-on I can mark the students' work and attach a feedback file but the students can't see the file. All they get is a white square in the top right of the feedback border.
When I am uploading the feedback file I see:
File was uploaded OK but could not update your submission!
Response file uploaded successfully.
This is with the latest upload review and moodle 1.5.3
Thoughts?

Even if you make the syntactical change advised in:
http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=30333
...it doesn't change the fact that you have to allow late submissions in order to return files.

I seem to be having this problem as well. However, all of our assignments are set to allow late submissions, so I'm not sure why I get that message back.
In our case, the file gets attached to the assignment, but only the teacher can see it. When the student logs in, they don't see the returned file. However, looking at it again as the teacher, the file shows up.

Nope, I gave the changes a shot, but still see this message when I upload the file:

Hmmm. Interesting timing ....
I added a new review assignment today and also got the same message. It seems fine in at least some of my other courses.
