I'm running moodle (3.9.1) on AWS infrastructure and currently looking to make the web server as stateless as possible. We currently make use of auto scaling and have the filedir on a separate storage area that is mapped in. One problem I'm coming up against is with plugins. There is a frequent need to install new ones, but when doing so we have to ensure our main image is also updated to ensure they persist if failover occurs. Is there a way to decouple plugins from the main server, e.g. use a separate storage area, like EFS, for all the possible plugin directories and have them mounted from the main server - is this even advised or is there a better way to achieve this, or is it not really possible?
