Hello, I'm using Moodle 3.9 and just noticed the "American English K12 (en_us_k12) " language pack. Has anyone used this? I've curious what is different about this than the English - United States (en_us). Is it possible to see what 'translations' have been made to this language pack that make it differ from en_us?

You can download the en_us_k12 language pack from https://download.moodle.org/langpack/3.10 and look what's in it. Since it is a child language, it (should) only contains the changes to it's parent.

I noticed this as well. And it made me think - is that expected actually? Should not the parent language be set to en_us
?

Thanks John for highlighting this issue. I think David is right that the parent language should be set to en_us. I have contacted the language pack maintainer, Jason, about it.
I also think that the language pack should be named 'English (United States) K12' for consistency with the English (United States) language pack.
Re: American English K12 (en_us_k12)
Update: Thanks to David for confirming that a child language pack such as en_us can be set as a parent of another language pack. Thus, the en_us_k12 language pack now has en_us as parent.
