Fordson marketing blocks displayed on Dashboard

Fordson marketing blocks displayed on Dashboard

Good day,

We currently have Moodle 3.9 and the latest Fordson theme installed.

Is it possible to remove the marketing blocks from the Dashboard when using the Fordson theme? We are using the Modern Moodle preset with the Postit Note Style.

The problem is that the marketing blocks are displayed on the Site Home and the Dashboard. We intend to use the Marketing Blocks with Guest access only and do not want to display them on the Dashboard again as the Dashboard is set to be the default page for currently enrolled learners who do not want to see the marketing blocks again after they have already signed up.

A further issue is that the marketing blocks take up a lot of the available screen space and forces the learners to scroll to get to their last accessed courses.

We have tried to find a solution to no avail. Is it something that can be changed manually in the code perhaps?

Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Regards

Ruan Combrink

That's horrible!!!!

Please read https://www.elearningworld.org/the-perils-of-display-none/. ; A much better solution is to remove:

{{{ output.fp_marketingtiles }}}

from 'templates/mydashboard.mustache'.

Hello Gareth

Yes, I really agree with you, it's not perfect, but it's a quick solution.

And when you can't do it from moustache files, it's just a way to do it.

What about updates? Mustache files are overwritten normally too, I think?
