Etherpad and sharing

Etherpad and sharing

Hi,

I use etherpad version 1.8.5 and the Moodle plugin 2019013100. So far everything works, only if I want to use the share feature in etherpad, the generated addresses can't be called. I get the message that I don't have the right rights. It does not matter if I allow guests in the plugin settings or not. Is there a solution for this? Does etherpad need another activated plugin? Or is the activation for guests not intended at all?
Many greetings
Jörg

Hi Jörg,

unfortunately there is a conceptual problem. Pads created in Moodle using the API are called "group pads". You can see this by the pad name.
Example: g.dlXEnw4MpnBKF1Mt$mymoodlepads
These pads cannot be shared and can only be accessed with a valid session that was also created by the API.
Bottom line: there doesn't seem to be a way to share your pads.

Best regards
Andreas
