When I am trying restore a course from backup of the course, it has failed.
Please help!

Switch on Debugging. Try again. Hopefully you will get some more messages.
In addition to what Howard has said, manually delete anything in moodledata/temp/backup/ directory. You need to use a tool outside of Moodle that manages files/folders on your site to do that.

Horward and Ken thank you very much! I did as you say. But it can't restore backup. Even there is no eror on page.
Check your web server's error log.
The other possibility is that it's caused by an optional plugin. If you back up on one Moodle and restore on another, make sure they have the same plugins (or do not include the missing ones in the backup)
