The Gradebook for the class I TA for had been set up with 4 activities, all assigned the appropriate weight distribution. I.e.; Research Paper 40 points, Mid-term exam 25 points, Final exam 25 points and Discussion 10 points.
Now, when the Professor created a practice midterm (which is not supposed to count for the final grade) and the "Quiz" for the Midterm exam, these both got added to the Gradebook and are being counted toward the course total. I have inserted screenshots to make this easier to follow.
There are now two categories for the midterm, the one the Professor had created at the start of the course, and the one that was created when he added the "MID TERM EXAM QUIZ". The latter was graded out of 50, but since the Midterm is only worth 25% of the grade, I divided and manually input the grades into the "Midterm exam" column.
For example: A student who obtained 2.5 on the practice quiz and 35 out of 50 for the midterm now has a course total of 55/100. 2.5 (practice quiz column) + 35 (MID-TERM EXAM column) + 17.5 (Original, midterm column, the only one I actually want to count toward the course total).
I am afraid that if I delete the two superfluous columns, that the activities will disappear from the Moodle course site completely.
My question is thus the following: How do I get make the columns/activities Moodle added to the Gradebook from counting toward the course total?
This has been driving me nuts, so I appreciate any kind of help.
