Hi

Do you mean Site administration > Courses > Backups > Automated backup setup? Then No, it makes a backup per course, as you can see in their names like sicherung-moodle2-course-993-abu_4j18-22a-20200908-0150.mbz, where '993' is the course ID.

But the script does not backup every course, only those which satisfy the criteria in the setup mentioned above.

Hi Vishvanath,

My question is regard to this link,

to get this enabled Turnitin says to run the moodle course backup cron job. My doubt is , when it first runs it takes a quiet a bit of space (as we have nearly 200 modules) and when let it runs continuously, is it a incremental backup or full backup?

(Cron job is Mandatory to make this setting enabled)

Hi

Independent of Turnitin running the cron.php regularly is a must for the proper operation of Moodle. See the highlighted sentence in https://docs.moodle.org/en/Cron. If Turnitin requires that https://docs.moodle.org/en/Automated_course_backup (triggered from cron.php) needs to be run, then you must. Yes, I know that the automated course backup is an expensive operation - in big sites it can drag on for hours and even days! You can run the Advanced forum search https://moodle.org/mod/forum/search.php?id=5 to find such discussions.

N.B. Could you please add a note to your previous discussion https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=411999 saying the the follow up is here? You are stretching the effort of the community unnecessarily. Ref. the appropriate section in the Moodle Sity Policy https://moodle.org/mod/page/view.php?id=7080.
