Essay Grading Carried Over on New Attempt

Hi everyone, 

We are using version 3.8.4 and I am wondering if there is a way to carry over grading for an essay question for a new attempt.

We use quizzes with 3 attempts that build on each other with a combination of multi choice and essay questions etc, and if the marker grades the first attempt, there doesn't seem to be a way for them to avoid having to remark a second attempt of essay questions, even if they were marked correct the first time! Is there any way to make the grades carry over like they do for other automatically marked questions like multiple choice?

This is not possible, but you are not the first person to ask for it. It would be a nice feature. See MDL-49133

The feature for essay marks to remain should be developed, so much assessor time is waisted on regrading questions that already have been marked.

Well, Moodle is open source. In theory, anyone could develop this feature.

Hi Tim,
I love that moodle is open source, thats why our RTO uses it. I dont have the skills or knowledge to develop this feature. Do you know someone who I can engage to develop this feature?
