I need some creative help with setting this up:
I have 20 MC Qs randomly generated from a pool, worth 2pts each.
I am presenting 5 essays worth 10 points each, but students pick the four they want to answer.
Students must answer one longer essay, worth 20 points, but they can choose between 2 prompts.
Right now, I've got all of the prompts separate (with instructions that says: pick 4 of the next 5 questions to answer...). I could easily combine the longer prompts into one question, but I think that would be confusing for the shorter essays (plus I'd like to be able to give direct feedback/points for each separately).
The total for this quiz is 100 points. The total point value of all questions in my quiz is 130. If I change the total points in the quiz setup, it calculates the essays at lower values (which I don't want). If I up the total points to 130 to match the questions, the grade book calculates the percentage based on that total rather than the 100 points. Is there any way to make this work? I feel like there's something simple I must be missing.
Thanks in advance!
