I tried using the plugin but I can't find it within site adm to manage, any help/hint? I can see it on plugins overview, it is enabled, but I can find a way to configure/add items nor can I add its block...

The only way to add stash items is indeed by adding the block first and creating the stash item within the block. Just for clarity, are you attempting to add the block onto a course page or somewhere else?
