Is there a way to have an audio-player with adjustable audio speed playback in Moodle?

I have seen some old posts such as the following but am still looking for a working solution.

Hi,
I agree with Giovanni that pedagogically it is not a good technique to allow a video to play faster. But technically it is possible if you use the H5P activity Interactive Video.

@Giovanni and @Beatriz: it's a very common thing to speed up / slow down video on platforms like Coursera.org.

I agree that it's not always pedagogically sound, but it is a very nice to have. Recommended though, if you happen to want to speed up things: make sure there are transcript files available for people to read along as well. That makes sense from a UDL (Universal Design for Learning) perspective.

Hi PH,

It might be a bit difficult to understand why you would want audio to go by faster than it does. Video I can understand as you have visual and audible senses working, but only audio means you need to listen more carefully and thus speeding it up might not be great.

I can only suggest looking at uploading a video that has a static image and thus that will allow speed control, this is a very simple suggestion, but very easy and simply to do.

Adjustable audio and video playback speeds for VideoJS are due to arrive in Moodle 3.11 if I'm correct.

Monday May 17th is the scheduled release date for Moodle 3.11. Don't know if that backports to older versions, and you may want to wait until 3.11.1 is out to be on the safe side, but it's coming!

Just check this course on Moodle's official QA site: https://qa.moodledemo.net/course/view.php?id=65

The playback speed changer has been removed from (the horrible) Moodle 4. Does anyone know how to enable it? I had my developer try but unhiding it causes design issues.
