Using LaTeX for Limits

Using LaTeX for Limits

I am trying to use LaTeX in a Moodle course which includes Limits, but when I upload the equation, it does not display properly in Moodle.  It does in my LaTeX converter.

\lim_{x \to a}[k\cdot f(x)] = k\lim_{x\to a}f(x)=kA

I would like the x\to a to appear underneath the lim.

Note, I am not a mathematician so I don't understand Limits, but I am uploading this study guide for a faculty member who created this for me!

I wonder if any others have had this problem and I am missing some code.

Thank you!  Chris.

Hi Chris,

you can either use delimiters for displaystyle (propabably \[...\]) or you put \displaystyle at the beginning of your expression. This will give \[\lim_{x \to a}[k\cdot f(x)] = k\lim_{x\to a}f(x)=kA\] respectively \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to a}[k\cdot f(x)] = k\lim_{x\to a}f(x)=kA\).
