Hello,
We have Moodle 3.8 installed in a server and we have noticed the filedir folder is too big, so we decided to look for a solution.
We are now using Dropbox as a repository in order not to make the filedir folder bigger than it is now. As far as I understood, Dropbox is used in Moodle as a repository so that the files are stored in Dropbox instead of in the filedir folder when creating an alias / shortcut to the file, but we are not 100% sure as when we delete a file from Dropbox we can still access to it through Moodle.
Is there any way we can make sure Moodle is not making a copy of this file and storing it in the filedir directory? Is this how Dropbox works in Moodle as a repository?
Thanks in advance.
