I couldn't find a thread specific to my needs and I am hoping that you can help me please.
We have a 'Teacher only' hidden topic in our courses with confidential information that we don't want students to have access but when students click on 'Resources' option in the Activities block, they are able to see everything - including the hidden files that they are not supposed to see. The only way I can get around this is by creating a new 'Teacher group' and restricting the hidden topic to that group. This means that the teachers will need to be either manually added to the group or a coordinator allocated to do this otherwise they won't have access to the topic. There are always issues having teachers remember to enrol themselves in a student group without asking them to add themselves to a teacher only group. Is there anything I am overlooking? I checked the student permissions and there is nothing obvious.
We are running various versions of Moodle and I have tested version 3.1 and 3.4 and both behave the same way.
