We are new to using Moodle Workplace 3.8.3 and we have multiple colleges that are separate tenants in our system. They all use the same "library" of our courses. We want to put one dynamic course certificate in through the Workplace User Interface for each course, but on a global level. We don't want to have to put the same certificate in 50+ times for each tenant. We have temporarily put the certificates back into each course with the old certificate module, but we hoped Workplace would allow us to make global certificates for each course that all tenants would be able to use. Is this possible in Moodle Workplace without special coding? Thanks, Tricia
Workplace Certificate will be released soon as a community plugin. The version we will release includes a new activity module to issue certificates at a course level. This feature will be available also available in Workplace, as we will use the same plugin.
I hope it helps.
PS: in Moodle Workplace 3.8.3 you can create a shared certificate template and use Dynamic Rules for issuing. This way you just need a certificate template
We have certificates at the course level, we imported the plugin from our old Moodle. We did create a certificate template in Workplace but there isn't a way to "apply" it to all tenants for all courses.
Right now we have approx. 300 courses and 50 tenants. In the Workplace UI, that means we would need to attach the template certificate 15,000 times. This is impossible for us as a small business. I do understand the value of each tenant that creates their own classes being able to add their own dynamic certificates, but it doesn't work for our model.
Are there any other options other than certificates at the course level? What is the best way to deal with this when the courses are in a library that all tenants access? They need OUR certificate for their CEU hours.
Thanks for your help,
Wow, you have a decent number of tenants there! Now I understand why Dynamic Rules with Category certificate templates will not work for you. In your situation, I think the best solution is using the custom certificate module for now (as you're already doing) and moving to our course level certificate when it's ready.
Hi Emilio, We have decided not to continue with Workplace, but we will continue with Moodle. Tricia
