Disable cohort sitewide

Hello,

I'm using moodle 3.8.3, and was hoping to find the answer in the docs, but can't see it.

I have a cohort (eg c1), added as a cohort enrolment method to courses A, B & C. I thought if I disabled the c1 cohort in users>Accounts>cohorts it would disable the enrolment for all users within C1 for courses A,B,C. 

Is this not the case? Do I have to either, remove the members of C1 or disable the cohort enrolment method form within each course?

I have a lot to do, so was just looking to most efficient way.

Hi Simon,

As you figured out, you would need to either remove the members of C1 or disable (or delete) the cohort enrolment method for courses A, B and C.

A cohort can be hidden from users without the capability to view cohorts, but this doesn't affect cohort enrolment.
