From what I can tell, install.php is hardcoded to create the config.php file in the moodle root folder. It would be nice if I could specify a location to write the file to, or if stdout redirection could be used.
Curious ... why?
Maybe a redirect could be used with admin/cli/install.php?
Haven't tried it ... just thinking outloud.
