Hi all -
I'm using Moodle version 3.8.4+ with MathJax filter on. A math professor is attempting to use TeX notation in her Missing Word Question (for the dropdown/choice text), and it's not rendering properly. It's either a) duplicating the properly rendered equation, b) rendering the TeX, not the notation, or c) munging the entire thing and printing a snippet of the TeX.
Trying to do my due diligence, I've found in the documentation where it says "Note that is not possible to add formatting to the responses". I'm assuming that means that TeX is not rendered either? The only strange part to me is that some of the TeX is rendered, just not correctly or completely.
Just in case the TeX should be rendered, I'll give a couple of examples of the issue.
For example, in the 'Choices' for the first dropdown:

As you can see, the equation is duplicated.

Anybody have any thoughts? Is this "fix-able", or is this specific question type not supposed to render the TeX?
