Moodle 3.9.1+ (build 20200730) - log-in issue

Hi

Today I updated Moodle from 3.9 to 3.9.1+ (build 20200730).

I have undertaken this Moodle update procedure many times in the past and this time also seemed to go very smoothly, and Moodle launched with the correct look and feel (after all the current plug-ins were installed manually).

I can log in as administrator fine but when I tested two student log-ins (which I use for testing), they are now not working? As there are over 400 registrants on this LMS it is a bit concerning.

Anyone else had this log-in issue with the very latest Moodle version?

Cheers,

John

Picture of Particularly helpful Moodlers

Suggest turning on debugging to developer and try logging in as student to see if Moodle is complaining about anything.

The plugins you updated manually ... any of them an authentication plugin?

Are all your participants using manual authentication or other?

Are you using any sort of front end for purchase of courses?

For sessions ... are you using DB or files?

Have you checked web service logs ... especially the error log?

Just realised that the Online Confirm authorisation option didn't automatically 'kick-in' when I updated Moodle - so, via 'Manage Authentication', I enabled 'Online Confirm self-registration' and now the log-ins are working smile.
