Moodle learning analytics uses machine learning to make predictions based on data in Moodle. If the majority of interaction at your institution happens face-to-face, you may not have enough data to generate very strong predictions. Assignments, quizzes, and manual grade entries can all help, however.
At this time it is not possible to allow teachers to choose whether to see predictions in a model. Teachers can be assigned to a role which sees predictions by a site administrator or manager. You may want to consider a pilot to see how well this would work at your institution.
