I began teaching a course today, and one of my students informed me that he could not open the .docx file in the Assignment module, nor could he add info to the Description box in his profile. What might be the problem? Other students have not had problems opening my Assignment files.

Hi Tim,
I'd also need more information from the student. Regarding the file, my first guess would be that he doesn't have the proper software or version. Regarding the second issue, I'd ask him if this also happens with other browsers. The best is that he sends you some screenshots of what the sees or gets from the system.

Hi Tim,
I just remembered that the capability of editing the own user's profile can be constrained by the administrator. I've never edited it, but I'm quite sure that in Admin>Users>Permissions>Define roles it's possible to enable or disable it.
