Performance problem when adding questions to quizzes

I experience severe performance problems when I try to add more than just 4-6 questions to a quiz.

Adding questions from the question bank requires multiple tries of pushing the button "Add selected...". And adding 2-3 questions can take several minutes.

Adding some questions to an empty quiz is much faster.

I just want to provide a quiz with all the weekly questions for pre-exam training without interference with the weekly quizzes.

Is that a known issue or should I look for local installation/configuration problems?

I've not seen that problem myself, and you can try yourself at qa.moodledemo.net/ and see that it works fine there.

It would be interestnig to work out why it is slowing down for you. Can you, or one of your server admins, do any diagnosis? (One possible guess, Google "turn on slow query logging" and the name of your database. That might show something.)
