I've downloaded the hotpot module from both the moodle site and CVS, but cant find the /lang folder as required by the readme.txt file to install the module.

As the Hotpot module is included in the standard Moodle download, I would expect the Hotpot lang strings to be included in moodle/lang/en. If you've not done so already, please try updating your language pack.

Helen's absoultely right, you need the latest lang files for the HotPot module.
