Hi everyone. First time post here. I'm very new to Moodle so please go easy on me. 😅 I'm having trouble with viewing a folder and some videos, and I believe this issue stems from my users' roles and permissions.
About my Moodle Site
I've built a training website for my company using Moodle 3.7+ (Build: 20190530).
There are currently six courses that are all part of a larger training course for our sales reps. There are currently six registered users, but I am the only one creating content. The other users are either admins or subject matter experts who will be reviewing my course content for accuracy. All users have been assigned the Manager role.
About the Folder
On the front page of the site, there are links to resources that will be available to the reps after the training is complete. There is also a hidden folder with job aids for each of the courses. This folder is set up to be hidden from students but accessible to instructors and reviewers. See the attached file titled "folder_permission settings" for this folder's current permission settings.
When I am logged in as myself, I can view this folder, download the job aids, and upload new documents to it as I wish. When I am logged in as any other user, I cannot see this folder on the front page without changing my role to Non-Editing Teacher. I would like for the reviewers to be able to just log in to the site and see the folder without having to switch their roles.
About the Videos
For two of the courses, I've created interactive videos that are externally hosted and embedded in the course pages. When I am logged in as myself, I can view every bit of content I've created, including the videos. When I am logged in as any other user, I can view the course pages and the text that is above and below the videos, but not the videos themselves. See the attached file titled "course page_missing video" for an example of what I see when I am logged in as another user viewing a course page with a video embedded in its HTML.
What's extremely weird is that I have also uploaded some PowerPoint presentations in SCORM format to some of the other courses. Everyone can view these presentations without any problems. 😶
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
