Hi Sarah, I suspect what Jon might be getting at is how far do you want to integrate your site with Moodle. Moodle can become your site, or it can be a separate identity on your site, or anything in between.
To be a part of your site, then what server
are you mounting your site on, does it have support for PHP, Postgres
or other? Is it Linux, Windows or other, a LAMP
, or a WAMP
? Dedicated Server, Virtual Server, self hosted or externally hosted?
If you have, say, a LAMP, and are self-hosting, what you may do is just install Moodle as a separate identity. Once set up, make the default landing page the Student's Dashboard
, maybe fiddle a bit with Permissions and capabilities, and try to cut everyone off from the Front Page
, just access via their own landing page. When students enrol in a course, they get sent a link to access their course. That's all, nothing fancy, just basic.
Best bet though is to talk to your service provider, they should help you get it set up.
