So, had a query from a colleague. We're trying to encourage use of the Gradebook to record everything and in cases where teachers are doing an "offline" [pen and paper] test, I've advised they create a (fairly blank) 'Assignment' so they can input the marks and record it in the Gradebook.
Some staff like to do 'question level analysis' i.e. break the test down: which students were weakest at question 1, 2, 3 etc? Now I know that the Quiz activity sort of does this in a table as a summary of performance by question, and also there are plugins for the Quiz to make this more graphical (https://moodle.org/plugins/gradereport_quizanalytics). Is there a 'good' way to record and to view/analyse question-level performance for an offline test?
I suppose it would be possible to use an Assignment with an advanced grading method of 'Marking Guide' - but how would a teacher analyse this information after it had been inputted? Looking for some sort of table where they can see each student's marks per question and say average class performance too (to identify weaknesses in subject knowledge and hence corrective teaching) or even a graphical report.
Thanks for your ideas.
