Simplified File Picker?
Number of replies: 4
Apologies if this issue has been addressed before, but is there any way to simplify the file picker processes? There are so many clicks to get to the point of actually uploading a file from the host device. (I'm voicing some concerns from some customers who have lower tech abilities).
Here is how it works from my perspective:
click "Choose file"-->(popup)-->click "upload a file" repository-->click "browse"-->window opens on host device i.e. my computer.
find the file and click it. then click "open" to actually choose it (depending on the type of PC)
then
pause while wondering about the "Save as" textbox -- do I need it? And the author? And the license?
before clicking "Upload this file."
Am I done? Not quite.
The file is there but not saved until I click "save" or "upload" or whichever activity I'm trying to add a file to.
Note: The drag/drop file upload is one motion one-click -- awesome!
If we could have the option of disabling the file picker and just go straight from "Choose a file" to the PC dialog window, that might be easier for new Moodle users.
Just curious about thoughts people have on the possibility for a user to disable the file picker experience and just go with a more "simple" upload style.
Would this make Moodle a bit more usable?

Sorry for the formatting disaster which is this post. It appeared formatted when I wrote it, then all the formatting was removed.

I thought the subject told so much of the story, so the mangling of the text was not so important
Re: Simplified File Picker?
I second that. I see the value of the file picker to manage repositories. But, perhaps a toggle for a simplified file uploader for people who only need the file upload option?
Re: Simplified File Picker?
Hi
Please Anyone reply for the simplified file picker to reduce the clicks for uploading the file.
Thanks
