I am in the process of creating a few question pages for a lesson. Unfortunately, the list of available question types does not include what I want to do. (For that matter, there is no question type that does what I want to do here.)
For those that care about what I am doing:
The question provides some randomized parameters. The students must first select one parameter that has a specific property, then they get to work with a complex image do determine the results based on the image, then they need to determine if the value determined is in specification. They must get all correct to pass. They must get this correct three time before proceeding. This is not a simple process as I have over 500 lines of code to do what I want, the way I want it to.
For those that do not care about the background and just want to get to the question:
What I want to do is similar to what a lesson question page does. Lesson questions offer the option of linking to other pages if not correct and allow the option of continuing once the student gets it correct. I want to do the same thing with my question. Unfortunately, I do not see a method of enabling or disabling the content links at the bottom of the page. Currently, I am using HTML <a> tags to create a button.
I have several questions
- Is there a way to conditionally enable/disable or set the content links programmatically without access to the php files? If so, how? If not, why not? It does not have to be ON all the time, but the option would be nice.
- If using HTML <a> tag, is the entire URL required or can just the pageid? I ask as the lesson is not in its final location and I have noticed that portions of the URL change when I move a lesson from one location to another.
- Am I completely out-to-lunch and missing something basic?
